The bar chart shows the average number of hours students in five different universities studied.

Bước 1: Lập dàn ý

Đoạn tổng quan:

Thời lượng của các buổi học vào các ngày trong tuần giữa năm năm cơ sở giáo dục đại học này gần như tương tự nhau, trong khi có sự khác biệt đáng kể được quan sát vào cuối tuần. Ngoài ra, cho dù vào các ngày trong tuần hay cuối tuần, sinh viên ở trường D dành thời gian ít nhất cho việc học tập.

– Nhìn vào những ngày trong tuần trước tiên, Đại học C là cơ sở chiếm ưu thế về số giờ trung bình mà sinh viên thường xuyên học, ở mức 10.6 giờ, tiếp đến gần như là đại học B và đại học E, với con số gần như như nhau (khoảng 10 giờ). – Đại học A có số giờ học thấp hơn một chút, với sinh viên tại trường này học trung bình 9.8 giờ vào các ngày trong tuần, so với đại học D, nơi có thời gian học ngắn nhất được ghi nhận, kéo dài 9.6 giờ trung bình, mặc dù con số này vẫn cao so với trường dẫn đầu.

– Chuyển sang cuối tuần, sinh viên tại đại học A đã có thời lượng buổi học dài nhất, trung bình là 9 giờ, trong khi những người tại đại học B dành một lượng thời gian học ít hơn một chút (8.6 giờ).  – Mặc dù chứng kiến thời gian học lớn nhất vào các ngày trong tuần, đại học C lại rơi vào vị trí thứ ba, khi thời gian học trung bình vào cuối tuần là 7.8 giờ, cao hơn 1.6 giờ so với dữ liệu tương ứng cho đại học E.  – Đáng chú ý, bất kể vào các ngày trong tuần hay cuối tuần, đại học D vẫn là thấp nhất về số giờ học trung bình, khi sinh viên chỉ dành một số giờ trung bình là 5.6 giờ cho việc tham gia các hoạt động học thuật, và thú vị là đây cũng là dữ liệu thấp nhất được ghi nhận trong biểu đồ.

The charts give information about the amount of time students of five universities allocated to studying, with units measured in hours.

Overall, the duration of study sessions on weekdays among these five examined academic institutions were almost similar, while significant differences were observed during weekends. In addition, whether weekdays or weekends, students at university D spent the least amount of time on studying. 

Looking first at weekdays, University C was the dominant institution in terms of the average number of hours that students typically studied, at 10.6 hours, followed closely by university B and university E, whose figures were almost the same (around 10 hours). By comparison, university A had a minimally lower number of study hours, with students at this university studying for an average of 9.8 hours on weekdays, as opposed to university D, where the shortest study sessions was recorded, lasting 9.6 hours on average, although this figure was still relatively high in comparison to that for the leading university. 

Turning to weekends, students at university A had the longest duration of study sessions, averaging 9 hours, while those at university B spent a slightly lower amount of time on study-related purposes (8.6 hours). Despite witnessing the greatest study time on weekdays, university C fell to its third position, as study time took an average of 7.8 hours on weekends, which was 1.6 hours higher than the corresponding data for university E. Notably, regardless of weekdays or weekends, university D remained the lowest with regard to study time, when students just dedicated an average number of 5.6 hours to engaging in academic activities, and interestingly this was also the lowest recorded data in the charts.

Some people say in order to prevent illness and disease, governments should focus on reducing environmental pollution and housing problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

(Một số người cho rằng để ngăn ngừa bệnh tật, chính phủ nên tập trung vào việc giảm ô nhiễm môi trường và các vấn đề về nhà ở. Tới mức độ nào bạn đồng ý hay không đồng ý?)

Bước 1: Phân tích đề

• Từ khoá: Prevent illness and disease, focus, reducing environmental pollution, housing problems.
• Câu hỏi: Đề bài yêu cầu thí sinh đưa ra quan điểm đồng tình hay phản đối. Ở đây thầy sẽ theo hướng “balanced opinion”, cho rằng giải quyết vấn đề môi trường và nhà cửa quan trọng, nhưng những yếu tố khác cũng không kém quần quan trọng.

Topic Sentence: Proponents advocate for improving the environment and addressing housing issues to reduce illness and disease. Supporting Ideas: – Deterioration of the environment, such as air and water pollution, contributes to health problems like respiratory diseases. – Housing shortages lead people to live in substandard conditions without clean water or proper hygiene, resulting in various health complications.

Topic Sentence: However, a comprehensive approach is necessary as health determinants are multifaceted. Supporting Ideas: – Developing a robust healthcare system with state-of-the-art facilities and qualified professionals is essential. – Poverty, a major determinant of health outcomes, should be addressed through policies focused on poverty alleviation, such as employment opportunities and social welfare programs.

Bước 3: Hoàn thành bài luận

It is thought by some that in order to reduce the incidence of illness and disease, it is advisable that the focus of the state should be on the mitigation of environmental pollution and housing problems. In my opinion, while these two proposed solutions should be adopted for the sake of disease prevention, a comprehensive policy, encompassing various other facets, could yield far better results. 

On the one hand, proponents of improving the state of the environment justify their position by saying that the deterioration of the environment is mainly responsible for many instances of illness and disease facing humankind. In fact, the air is becoming increasingly contaminated due to greenhouse gas emissions released from manufacturing plants as well as the over-reliance on private means of transport, which means that upon breathing polluted air, people would suffer from a range of health-related issues, chief among which is respiratory diseases. In addition to air pollution, polluted water is also receiving a great deal of concern in recent years, with toxic pollutants under the sea affecting marine species, and by extension, humans as these species are the source of food for our consumption. By the same token, housing shortage forces people, especially those in lower-income brackets, to reside in substandard and dilapidated living conditions, with no access to clean water and proper hygiene, and this can give rise to a diverse array of diseases and health complications. Ultimately, addressing the deterioration of air and water quality as well as the scarcity of housing are imperative in an attempt to curb the spread of illness and disease. 

On the other hand, it is overly simplistic to just take into account the environment and accommodation, as determinants of health are multifaceted and encompass a range of other influencing factors beyond these two aforementioned concerns. Firstly, the development of a robust healthcare system has a crucial role to play in this endeavor. Such a system should be constantly upgraded so as to ensure that they are equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, advanced technologies as well as well-qualified professionals, which allows for more effective responses to disease, particularly in case of the outbreak of contagious or life-threatening ones. The government should also ensure that healthcare is accessible to everyone, regardless of their socio-economic background, as currently the poor are deprived of this basic human right due to the exorbitant expenses associated with treatment and medicine. Secondly, it is noteworthy to acknowledge that poverty is a major determinant of health outcomes, and therefore, the government should implement policies aimed at poverty alleviation, as socio-economic well-being is closely tied to health status. This can be executed by offering them employment opportunities, for example through vocational training schemes, and social welfare programs, which ensures that their basic human necessities are met and in long term contributes significantly to the decline in incidence of illness and disease.

In conclusion, while it is understandable why addressing environmental pollution and housing shortage is essential for curbing the spread of illness and disease, I believe that the government should adopt a holistic approach that takes into consideration the advancement and accessibility of healthcare facilities and socio-economic well-being.
