The chart illustrates the proportions of an automobile manufacturer’s revenues coming from four regions in the world, namely North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

Overall, car manufacturer’s total sales in Asia saw a rising trend throughout, overtaking Europe to become the dominant towards the end of the period, while gradual decreases were observed in the corresponding figures for North America. In addition, sales from cars produced in South America were generally the lowest, except for the last year.

At the beginning of the period, in 2006, the percentage of sales of car manufacturers in Asia, Europe, and South America were near parity, with each of these countries accounting for around 30% of total sales, while slightly over 10% of sales came from North America. Over the following two years, total sales figures in Asia experienced a marginal growth, reaching around 35%. Similar changes, but to a great extent, can be seen in revenues from car production in Europe, reaching its peak of roughly 38% in the same year. These rising patterns contrast starkly with car-manufacturing sales in South America and North America, with the former declining steadily to around 21%, while the latter almost halved, falling to a mere 6% in 2008.

In the latter half of the period, between 2008 and 2010, Asia was the only country where a consistent increase in aggregate turnover from cars was recorded, with its figure rising to its high of 50% in the last year when it surpassed the data for Europe. Reverse patterns can be observed in revenue from car manufacture in Europe and South America, which went down to 30% and a low of 9% respectively. Meanwhile, despite witnessing a fall in 2009, sales in North America then witnessed a more than twofold rise to around 12%, which was nearly the same as its initial level.

IELTS Writing task 2

People who decide on a career path early in their lives and keep to it are more likely to have a satisfying working life than those who change jobs frequently. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

  • Từ khoá: A career path early in their lives, keep to it, have a satisfying working life, change jobs frequently.
  • Câu hỏi: Ở đây đề bài yêu cầu thí sinh đưa ra quan điểm đồng tình hay phản đối, và Vietop sẽ theo ý kiến đồng tình nhé.

Bước 2: Lập kế hoạch cho bài luận

Thân bài 1Thân bài 2
Topic Sentence: Advocates of frequent job transitions argue for the benefits of exposure to diverse working environments and skill development.
Supporting Ideas:
– Exposure to various fields and positions can lead to a broadened understanding and a diverse skill set.
– Job hoppers may perform well in professional settings requiring interdisciplinary knowledge.
Counterargument: Job hoppers often face challenges starting anew in each workplace, limiting their opportunities for advancement and satisfaction.
Topic Sentence: Choosing a single career path can result in greater job satisfaction due to expertise development and stability.
Supporting Ideas:
– Longevity in a specific field allows for the accumulation of specialized knowledge and expertise.
– Senior employees in a stable career path may experience higher earning potential and garner respect from colleagues.
– Remaining loyal to one organization provides a sense of security and financial stability amidst job market unpredictability.
– Recruiters may favor candidates with a stable job history, viewing job hoppers as less loyal and reliable.

Bước 3: Hoàn thành bài luận

It is thought that those who lean towards job stability can derive a greater sense of contentment in comparison to those who make regular job transitions. Personally, although some opponents of this idea may have certain valid points to argue against staying in the same job, these arguments are not sensible, and I believe that job stability would guarantee a more satisfying professional life.

On the one hand, advocates of transitioning frequently between different workplaces may argue that the exposure to various working environments and the opportunities to take on various positions can allow these job hoppers to gain an understanding of various fields as well as develop a diverse skill set. According to this theory, they are better equipped to perform well in a professional setting, where interdisciplinary knowledge is usually required, which would result in higher levels of satisfaction in one’s career. However, this viewpoint is deeply flawed, given the fact that those changing jobs frequently, when leaving their former organization, have to start everything from the very beginning. In other words, they have to go through a lengthy process of getting accustomed to the regulations and working procedures of a new company, coupled with the fact that most of them are just confined to entry-level jobs due to their lack of experience and industry-related knowledge. As a result, it can be argued that these individuals have little or almost nothing to gain from such a transition, thereby rendering the feasibility of the proposal to make job changes questionable at best.

On the other hand, I side with those who assert the idea that people who stick to a single career path are more likely to have a satisfying working life. This is because working in a specific field for an extended period of time enables one to accumulate a wealth of specialized knowledge and could one day become experts in the field. With such an expertise, senior employees can quickly climb up the corporate ladder with a far higher earning potential, are more likely to garner respect and admiration from colleagues, thus contributing significantly to one’s sense of fulfillment in a workplace. Another noteworthy point is that remaining loyal and committed to only one organization offers individuals a sense of security as well as financial stability, considering the current unpredictability of the contemporary job market and the vulnerability to job losses or even unemployment among those who transition between different working environments. Perhaps a final more convincing argument is that job applicants with a record of regular job hopping may leave a negative impression on recruiters, who may view that these candidates may also not demonstrate a sense of loyalty and commitment, which would lower their chances of being employed.

In conclusion, although there are certain arguments in favor of relocating to new workplaces, I am of the opinion that these viewpoints are not reasonable, and instead a feeling of satisfaction is more likely to be found among those with a consistent and stable job.
