A. Tổng quan về chủ đề Environment IELTS Writing

Nhìn chung, các dạng đề của chủ đề Environment (môi trường) thường xoay quanh các vấn đề sau:

• Các hành vi của con người ảnh hưởng xấu đến môi trường (cả doanh nghiệp và cá nhân) và hậu quả của chúng
• Sự nóng lên toàn cầu và biến đổi khí hậu
• Các giải pháp giải quyết vấn đề ô nhiễm môi trường

Để khi gặp phải chủ đề này mà có thể làm bài một cách tự tin và đạt điểm số cao, các bạn đang ôn tập cho kỳ thi IELTS nên trang bị cho mình từ vựng cũng như tìm hiểu kiến thức xã hội có liên quan đến môi trường.

B. Ý tưởng liên quan đến chủ đề Enviroment

Sau đây là một số các ideas về nguyên nhân, hậu quả và giải pháp cho vấn đề ô nhiễm môi trường mà các bạn có thể tham khảo cho bài viết của mình:

C. Cách viết và trình bày ý tưởng của bạn về chủ đề Environment

• Environment Writing Task 2 cũng giống như trong các bài viết Writing Task 2 khác, một bài viết của các bạn cần có đủ 3 phần chính: Introduction – Body – Conclusion
• Riêng về phần Thân bài (Body), các bạn cần đọc kỹ đề bài để xác định rõ câu hỏi chính của đề bài là gì để chia phần Thân bài sao cho người đọc dễ dàng nhận ra nội dung mỗi phần
• Ngoài ra, nếu đề bài là dạng Cause – Solution hoặc Problem – Solution, hãy dựa trên các nguyên nhân/ vấn đề để đưa ra giải pháp. Tránh viết theo cách “nguyên nhân một đằng” nhưng “giải pháp một nẻo”, dẫn đến bài viết thiếu thuyết phục và trọng tâm

Ví dụ: Water pollution has been an increasing problem over the last few decades. What causes water pollution? How can we prevent this problem?

Body 1: Nguyên nhân

• Waste from factories are dumped into the enivonmnet without being properly treated
• Individuals litter irresponsibly

Sau đó dựa vào các nguyên nhân, ta đưa ra giải pháp tương ứng trong body 2

Body 2: Giải pháp

• Governments should introduce laws to limit industrial waste
• Raise public awareness about protecting the environment

Bài mẫu

There is a debate over the efficacy in reducing air pollution between supporters of worldwide car-free days and proponents of other measures. Although each and every solution may prove to be beneficial, I am in favour of the second view.

To start with, setting aside a few days banning cars globally is said to have a positive impact on protecting us from contaminated air. One immediate effect is the whole world will be able to enjoy a “break” from the daily car-polluted air. This is similar to the annual earth hour event, when most countries stop using electricity or limit its use to a minimum. Like the earth hour, the “no car” days might increase public awareness of the importance of keeping the earth safe even if it just lasts for a number of days.

However, I strongly believe in the efficiency of other anti-pollution measures. Apart from promoting cycling, there are two possible ways, to name but a few. Firstly, the use of public transport should be encouraged. Bus use is a typical example. This may be taken for granted in developed countries, but in many developing countries, such as Vietnam, a great number of motorcycles are being used, leading to dangerously high levels of air pollution. Therefore, if more investment is placed in the bus system to make it more convenient to the general public, there is no reason why they say no to such inexpensive transport. Secondly, we can take advantage of state-of-the-art technology. For instance, the electric car can be used instead of the conventional car. This cannot be carried out overnight, but hopefully the green and clean battery-equipped car will gradually replace the petrol-consuming and fume-emitting car.

All things considered, my belief is that banning conventional cars on certain days around the world will not be as effective as other solutions, such as advocating the use of buses and popularizing the electric car.
