IELTS Writing Task 1: The maps below show the future plan about the Biology School in particular university. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The maps provided reveal the development plan of a specific university’s biology school.

Overall, this area is expected to undergo complete transformations with the addition and extension of various educational facilities as well as some minor changes of transportation and recreation infrastructures.

Currently, the heart of the campus features a Central, and a drama center is located perpendicular to it. However, this center is set to be converted into a music center while the library will remain unchanged. The lower part of the school also will see some changes, with a teaching building and a lecture room being upgraded from single-floor premises to two-story ones, and an IT center being expanded significantly, catering for the growing volume of students. The café in the center of this part of the school will stay the same, but the wood land in the bottom left corner of the map will be cleared to make for a new car park for staff.

Other future changes include the construction of a lab and an office in the upper part of the school, where there used to be a wooden area. It appears that the curved road that runs north-south and the indoor sports hall in the top right corner of the will not be affected by the development plans.

Điểm khác biệt chính của 2 bản đồ là trong tương lai, các cơ sở vật chất phục vụ dạy học được mở rộng và xây thêm, trong khi đó các toà nhà và trang bị khác cho giải trí và di chuyển hầu như không đổi.

Đoạn 1 mô tả sự thay đổi diễn ra ở trung tâm của bản đồ, với việc chuyển đổi trung tâm kịch thành trung tâm âm nhạc. Các hoạt động cải tiến và xây dựng trong tương lai ở khu vực bên dưới của bản đồ. Các phòng dạy được nâng cấp thêm tầng và một bãi đỗ xe được xây thêm

Đoạn 2 mô tả khu vực bên trên, gồm việc xây dựng 1 văn phòng và 1 phòng thí nghiệm. Khu vực thể thao và con đường giữ nguyên.

Task 2: Many young people choose to take a year out between finishing school and starting university in order to gain work experience or to travel. The experience of non-academic life benefits the individual when they return to education. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In recent years, there has been a fundamental shift away from entering tertiary education immediately after graduating from high school, with many high school leavers taking a gap year to work or explore the world. Although some people are opposed to this idea, claiming that students might lose momentum or suffer from mental problems, I believe that the benefits of a gap year are more pronounced

 It is evident that taking a year to do internships or even entry-level jobs related to their field and study can be highly valuable when they return. Many students are ill-equipped with career guidance and opt for some majors according to their parents’ opinions and friends. Experiences gained from reality, therefore, are likely to help them identify suitable career paths, leading to job satisfaction which contributes greatly to their well-being. This is coupled with deeper understanding of the industry and valuable skills, rendering them highly employable once they complete university. Granted, one might argue that some are reluctant to resume their education due to peer pressure and family expectations, but I strongly believe that students who have clear objectives can overcome these obstacles.

Another significant advantage of taking a gap year is that it can offer students opportunities to travel and explore new cultures, which certainly enables them to develop greater self-awareness, independence, and adaptability. These skills can be applied to academic settings and personal life, allowing students to navigate unfamiliar environments, manage their time effectively, and work collaboratively with others. Admittedly, while some students may experience homesickness or cultural shock, successfully managing these emotions and adjusting to exotic environments can broaden their horizons and teach them valuable lessons that would be seemingly impossible to learn within the confines of a school schedule.

In conclusion, although taking a gap year might have some drawbacks, I am firmly convinced that it can provide them with unique and unforgettable experiences that can benefit them both academically and personally. Therefore, it is important for individuals to carefully consider their plans and motivations to use this time effectively.

Body 2 nêu lợi ích của việc đi du lịch như là hiểu hơn về bản thân, độc lập cũng như tính thích nghi. Các phẩm chất này sẽ có ích cho cuộc sống của sinh viên. Người viết đồng thời đưa ra một số lo ngại nhưng những bất lợi này hoàn toàn có thể vượt qua được và đem lại những trải nghiệm giá trị.
