Quy tắc phát âm đuôi -ed là /id/

1. Trường hợp phát âm đuôi -ed là /id/:

• Động từ tận cùng bằng /t/ hoặc /d/

E.g: Needed (cần), wanted (muốn), decided (quyết định)

• Tính từ tận cùng là /ed/

E.g: Interested (thú vị), excited (thích thú)

2. Mẹo ghi nhớ: Ta có thể ghi nhớ nhanh các trường hợp phát âm đuôi -ed thành /id/ là “Đếm tiền”.

Quy tắc phát âm đuôi -ed là /t/

1. Trường hợp phát âm đuôi -ed là /t/: 

Đuôi -ed được phát âm thành /t/ khi động từ tận cùng là các phụ âm vô thanh như: /p/, /k/, /f/, /ʃ/, /s/, /tʃ/, /θ/ (hoặc tận cùng là các chữ cái p, k, f, ch, sh, th).

E.g: Helped (giúp đỡ), washed (rửa), watched (xem)

2. Mẹo ghi nhớ: Ta có thể ghi nhớ nhanh các trường hợp phát âm đuôi -ed thành /t/ là “Sáng sớm chạy khắp phố phường”.

Quy tắc phát âm đuôi -ed là /d/

1. Trường hợp phát âm đuôi -ed là /d/:

Đuôi -ed được phát âm thành /d/ trong tất cả các trường hợp còn lại.

E.g: Played (chơi), smiled (cười), opened (mở)

2. Mẹo ghi nhớ: Ngoại trừ các trường hợp của /id/ và /t/, tất cả các trường hợp còn lại phát âm đuôi -ed thành /d/

Lý thuyết về cách phát âm đuôi s es

Phát âm đuôi s es là /s/

Đuôi s es được phát âm là /s/ khi âm cuối của từ là một âm câm. Âm câm tức là âm phải sử dụng môi để phát âm mà không phải cuống họng. Có 5 âm câm trong tiếng Anh -p, -k, -t, -f, -th

VD: /k/ works [wə:ks], /k/ ‘k: looks, /p/ stops [stops]

Phát âm đuôi s es là /iz/

Đuôi s es được phát âm là /iz/ khi tận cùng từ bằng -s,-ss,-ch,-sh,-x,-z,-o,-ge,-ce

VD: misses /misiz/ ; watches [wochiz]

Phát âm đuôi s es là /z/

Đuôi s es được phát âm là /z/ khi âm cuối là những từ còn lại.

VD: /b/ ‘b: describes, /g/ ‘g: begs, /ŋ/ ‘ng: belongs
