Describe a popular product (e.g. food, handicraft) made in your region

Today I am going to talk about ‘bánh mì thanh long’ – a masterpiece that has recently enjoyed increasing popularity.

‘Bánh mì thanh long’, which can be literally translated into English as ‘Dragon-fruit Flavoured Baguette”, is a sort of bread which was initially developed by Mr Kao Siêu Lực, the founder of ABC Bakery. It was invented in response to the dragon fruit crisis in Vietnam where farmers were unable to sell their dragon fruits amidst the coronavirus outbreak. I am going to call it DFB for short.

The DFB is made from wheat flour, water, yeast, salt, and of course, dragon fruits. The crust has a very special cerise colour that makes this little bread gem stand out from the other members of the baguette family. It is crunchy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. The colour, the texture, coupled with its extraordinarily aromatic fragrance, will make you feel hungry the moment you lay eyes on it.

A lot of people are willing to stand in a long line to get the DFB. ABC is believed to be making 30,000 loaves a day, and all of them are sold out within minutes!

They are a crucial component of the whole thing, in my opinion, as users will be instructed on how to use the product effectively or avoid negative outcomes if they use it improperly. For instance, there may be an age limit on certain milk products. Underage drinkers run the risk of experiencing premature puberty.

  1. Do you think it is necessary to produce many new products nowadays?

To the best of my knowledge, the goal is to balance supply and demand rather than striving to produce as many items as possible. We shall have an abundance of things that may eventually become perishable if supply outpaces demand.

For example, farmers frequently desire to increase the yields of their fruits and vegetables, but because to Covid, many of these products cannot be exported. Since it is practically impossible to eat everything on the home market, waste is most likely to happen. Even some of the farmers might declare bankruptcy.

  1. What kinds of foods are popular globally?

This is partly because of globalization, in my opinion. The types of items that become popular can change as fast food businesses attempt to build restaurants in new countries.

  1. Why do people use imported products?

I believe that many consumers use foreign goods without even realizing it. Numerous goods are produced in other nations and delivered all across the world. It’s typical to find a label on a product stating that it was produced in another nation, such as Mexico or China.

In other instances, consumers could be drawn to a product just because it was produced there, such as when purchasing cheese from Switzerland or chocolate from Belgium. These are relatively uncommon goods with distinctive qualities like a distinct flavor.
