1. Do you have a lot of furniture at home?
Well, honestly, I just furnish my house with some basic pieces of furniture such as chairs and tables as I am currently residing in a tiny house with my parents. Additionally, too much furniture in a house may hinder us to move comfortably.
- Furnish (v): trang bị
- Reside (v): sinh sống
- Hinder (v): cản trở
Ở câu hỏi này, chúng ta chỉ cần nghĩ đến những nột thất cơ bản trong nhà, cũng như lí do tại sao nhà chúng ta có ít hay nhiều đồ nồ thất.
2. Have you ever received furniture as a gift?
Frankly, the one and only piece of furniture that I have ever been gifted is a wooden wardrobe which my mom purchased for me on my last birthday. I was taken aback by the elegantly carved patterns that were aesthetically put on this wardrobe when receiving such a present.

I really don’t have any preference for furniture, but if I were to choose one, that would be the present given by my mom – the wooden wardrobe. Not only is it a birthday present for me, but also a message of love that my mom wants to give me.

- Not only be S + Noun 1, but also Noun 2 (phr): không những …, mà còn ….

IELTS Speaking Part 2: Describe a thing you cannot live without (not cell phone or computer)
You should say:
- What it is
- Why you can’t manage without it
- How long you have had it for
- And explain how you felt when you were without it
Sample
I can tell you off the top of my head that the only thing that has been of paramount importance in my daily life apart from my smartphone and laptop is the motorbike my parents gave me 7 years ago.
The scooter has been with me since I graduated from my university. As I have itchy feet, I usually go backpacking in the company of my friends to many breathtaking places using my motorbike. As a result, spending the rest of my life without it seems to be a daunting task to me.
If my memory serves me right, the scooter was a gift from my parents to celebrate my graduation. My dad said to me that he was so proud of me and held a belief that I could make prudent use of such a vehicle for my future career. Honestly, I was elated to receive such a gift as it marked an important milestone in my life.
I would say that the scooter and I have been through a lot of ups and downs together. It allows me to go to every nook and corner, from local spots to remote areas, and it has become my only travel companion whenever I am desperate. It is therefore an indispensable thing that I don’t think I can manage without.
In all seriousness, the scooter has meant the world to me since it not only represents how much my parents take pride in me but also become a partner for life.

Bên cách những vật dụng chúng ta luôn sử dụng hằng ngày như điện thoại hay máy tính thì chiếc xe máy là thứ mà chúng ta sử dụng để đi lại hằng ngày. Vì đề không cho nói về điện thoại hay máy tính nên bạn có thể dựa vào bài mẫu về chiếc xe máy để có ý hơn cho câu trả lời của mình ở câu hỏi này nhé.

1. Why do you think teenagers always want to have the latest devices (such as the iPhone)?
Without a doubt, nowadays, people have become increasingly technology-driven and it is definitely true for most youngsters. For the most part, some of them feel that they are lagging behind their peers in terms of using gadgets. For example, many teenagers usually insist their parents on buying them the the brand new Iphone when they see their class mates possessing ones. Another reason is that cutting – edge technologies offer young people a culture of convenience as their daily tasks can be done effortlessly if they use such devices.
- Technology-driven (adj): phụ thuộc vào công nghệ
- Lag behind (v): tụt hậu, lạc hậu
- Cutting-edge (adk): tân tiến, hiện đại
Thực trạng con người ngày càng phụ thuộc vào công nghệ ngày càng phổ biến và người trẻ cũng bị ảnh hưởng. Hãy nêu ra những nguyên nhân của thực trạng này để triển khai câu trả lời một cách hiệu quả.
2. Why do people often buy a new item even though they already have one?
As a matter of fact, excessive purchasing has become ubiquitous among contemporary consumers. The fundamental reason for this habit is that most consumers tend to crave the experiences and the benefits a new item may offer. With a new color and different materials used, most products are likely to tempt people into making purchases.
- Excessive purchasing (n): việc mua sắm thiếu kiểm soát
- Ubiquitous (adj): tồn tại ở khắp nơi
- Crave (v): khao khát
- Tempt someone into doing something (idiom): lối cuốn ai đó để làm gì đó
Việc mua sắm thiếu kiểm soát là một hiện tượng khá phổ biến đối với nhiều người mua hàng. Hãy nêu những lí do của hiện tượng trên để câu trả lời thêm phần thuyết phục nhé.

3. How hard is it for parents to convince their children not to buy an expensive phone?
In a rapidly changing world, children tend to gain exposure to smartphones and other technological devices at a very early stage of life, and some of them cannot resist the urge to have these state-of-the-art gadgets. So, there is no doubt that fear of children insisting on an exorbitant phone is common for parents of all income classes.

- State-of-the-art (adj): hiện đại
- Exorbitant (adj): đắt đỏ
Việc trẻ em đua đòi để có được chiếc điện thoại đắt tiền là một viễn cảnh có thể thấy được khi xã hội ngày càng phát triển sẽ dẫn đến việc trẻ em có nhiều cơ hội tiếp xúc với công nghệ hơn. Rõ ràng, đây thực sự là một thách thức đối với bậc cha mẹ khi họ phải luôn thuyết phục con cái mình không nên mua điện thoại mắc tiền ở lứa tuổi của chúng.
