To be honest, I like sports, but I prefer watching it to playing it. I like cheering for my sports team, but I don’t like being exhausted and sweaty.

Most people I know are crazy about football. In fact, whenever our national football team plays, friends and families gather and watch together.

3. What sports are popular in your country?
Beside football, many young people are into basketball. Other sports that you could find people playing at parks in the morning are shuttlecock and badminton. These two sports are easy to play and generally don’t cost too much.

4. What sport would you like to try in the future?
While I don’t like to push myself a lot, I find pole vaulting quite intriguing. If I have an opportunity to do it, I would do it for once. But I don’t see myself doing it regularly.

IELTS Speaking Part 2: Describe a good experience of online shopping.
You should say:
- When it happened
- What you bought
- Why you bought it
And explain why you think it was a good experience.
I’m going to talk about the time I bought a camcorder from an overseas seller from a platform called Ebay.
It was last year and my class at my university had tasked me with recording and editing a video of an upcoming class trip. So, I took that opportunity to use my savings to buy a Sony 4K camcorder that I had always wanted to have.
But there was one problem. The camcorder model I wanted had been sold out in Vietnam and I had to resort to ordering from a seller abroad. First, I went on the internet and looked for all the shops that had the camcorder available. Then I read as many reviews as possible to make absolutely sure that I get a good deal. After considering it, I finally decided to purchase it from a camera shop in Germany through Ebay, a well-known website for online commerce. After placing my order, I was contacted by the seller through the message system of Ebay to verify my shipping address and contact information. I used my Mastercard to pay for the fee and the transaction was swift. Just under a week later, a FedEx delivery truck pulled up in front of my house and the delivery man handed me my parcel.
As I was opening the package, I was satisfied to see that, despite the long distance, the box was not damaged, and the camcorder worked perfectly. Later that day, I sent the seller a message thanking her. This experience was quite pleasant and I will shop online again if I find myself in the same situation in the future.

→ Câu hỏi yêu cầu kể một trải nghiệm tốt khi mua sắm online. Đây là dạng kể chuyện. Thí sinh có thể tập trung vào kể quy trình mua hàng và cảm nhận cá nhân. Trình tự gợi ý: Giới thiệu (mua gì, lí do, mua lúc nào) → Miêu tả trải nghiệm (mua ở nền tảng nào, có thể miêu tả giao diện website, đặt hàng như thế nào, thanh toán như thế nào) → Giải thích vì sao đây là trải nghiệm tốt (cảm nhận khi đặt xong/nhận được hàng, trong tương lai có tiếp tục không).
Lưu ý vì đây là kể một câu chuyện, người trả lời nên cân nhắc dùng những liên từ về thời gian hay thứ tự như first, next, then, after that … Và đặc biệt phải có phần nói về việc vì sao đây là một trải nghiệm tốt.

1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of online shopping?
Well, as an avid online shopper, I can speak from experience. For me, the most attractive upside of online shopping is cost and time efficiency. When I shop on the internet, I don’t have to spend a lot of time looking for the goods. I also don’t have to travel between different shops. Thus, it’s helped me save fuel and time. However, things bought online could be easily damaged if mishandled during the delivery process. Another inconvenience, typically when shopping for clothes, is that sometimes the sellers send the incorrect models or sizes. In these cases, you need to return the packages.

- Mishandle (v): xử lý sai cách
→ Câu hỏi yêu cầu người trả lời nêu advantages và disadvantages, nên trả lời theo từng mảng. Khi trả lời xong về advantages hoặc disadvantages nên dùng các từ thể hiện sự tương phản như “however”, “but” để người nghe biết thí sinh chuẩn bị nói ý ngược lại. Cân nhắc sử dụng các cụm từ như: “the first benefit is…” , “another disadvantages is…”.
2. Do you think it is safe to shop online?
Purchasing online can be both safe and unsafe. If you know what you’re doing, online shopping can be risk-free. Always buy from registered businesses and read reviews of the retailer before buying and you should be fine. However, there are also growing numbers of online frauds and online scams that people should be aware of. It goes without saying that you should provide sensitive information such as credit card number to online sellers and when possible, it’s preferable to choose to pay after you’ve received your packages.

- Sensitive information: thông tin nhạy cảm
→ Câu hỏi yêu cầu thí sinh nêu nhận định về việc mua hàng online có an toàn hay không. Thí sinh có thể trả lời có, không hoặc tùy trường hợp. Nếu trả lời dạng “it depends” hoặc “both safe and unsafe” cần phải làm rõ ra lí do ở từng trường hợp và có thể khai triển bằng cách cho ví dụ, nêu hệ quả, kinh nghiệm của chính bản thân.

3. Do you think the government should impose more control over online shopping?
From a buyer’s perspective, I hope that the government finds a way to crack down on scammers who have stolen people’s money. There have been many incidents where these scammers pretend to sell good products. However, after taking people’s money, they disappeared. I think online commerce has a lot of potential but first we need to make it a safer place for all people.

→ Câu hỏi yêu cầu người trả lời nêu ý kiến cá nhân về việc nên không nhà nước nên áp đặt (impose) thêm sự kiểm soát lên việc mua bán online. Khi trả lời thí sinh nên nêu lí do để khai triển mở rộng câu trả lời, nếu các ví dụ thực tế/bản thân.
