1. Describe a time when you first met someone.  

You should say:

  • Who that person was
  • Where you met him/her
  • What you talked about
  • How you felt about it

2. Describe a new public building you know about that you would like to visit.  

You should say:

  • What the new public building is
  • How you know about it
  • What the building looks like
  • And explain why you would like to visit this new public building

Part 3
  • Public buildings
  • (identify) some  interesting public buildings in your country
  • (agree/disagree) it’s better to build new public buildings than repair old ones
  • (consider) what is most important in a public building [e.g. location, design, access]
  • Buildings as tourist attractions
  • (assess) how important buildings are for a country’s tourist industry
  • (agree/disagree) entry to some public buildings [e.g. museums] should always be free
  • (consider) the extent to which buildings reflect a country’s culture
  • Buildings in cities

  • What kinds of skills are difficult to learn?
  • What kinds of professions require practical skills?

  • Is it important to have qualifications instead of personal skills? Why?

  • Compared to the skill levels in the past, which is difficult to learn? Present skills or past skills?

5. Describe a school you went in your childhood/ you went to as a child.  

You should say:

  • What type of school it was?
  • What you remember about the teachers?
  • What you learnt there that has been particularly useful?
  • And explain how you feel about this school now?

Part 3:

  • Schools in your country
  • (identify) the main types of school in your country
  • (agree/disagree) teachers today are less strict than in the past
  • (consider) whether students have to study to hard at school nowadays
  • Technology and learning
  • (describe) how computers can be used in the classroom
  • (outline) the advantages and disadvantages of online study
  • (comment on) the view that technology will one day replace teachers
  • The purpose of education
  • (agree/disagree) the primary purpose of education is to prepare people for the workplace
  • (consider) whether the purpose of education has changed over time
  • (assess) whether education is primarily the responsibility of parents or the state

6. Describe an occasion when you remember meeting somebody for the first time.

You should say:

  • Making new friends

8. Describe an app or program that you think is useful.

You should say:

  • What it is
  • Where you get from
  • Explain why you think is useful.

9. Describe an event when you were excited.

You should say:

  • When it happened
  • Who were there with you
  • Why you were excited
  • Would you like to experience this moment again.

Part 3:

  • What kind of events are celebrated in your country?
  • Why do some people spend lots of money for such events? Is it important?
  • What do you think about public events?
  • Do you think governments should spend money on such public events?
  • Is sponsoring important on these events? Why?
