Dưới đây là một số Idiom thông dụng trong chủ đề Du lịch và Kỳ nghỉ cùng với ý nghĩa của chúng:

• To get away from it all: Đi du lịch để thư giãn và quên đi những mệt mỏi thường ngày.

Đề bài

Describe a place you would like to visit in the future

You should say:  

• Where this place is
• How you know about it  
• What this place looks like 
• and explain why you would like to visit this place

Sample

I’m going on a city break in Da Nang city this Summer. I’ve been as busy as a bee at work so this is gonna be a much-needed holiday.

 I’ve always wanted to visit this city in Central Vietnam but the chance hasn’t arisen until now. When I think of Da Nang, I think of beautiful beaches, fabulous seafood restaurants and iconic tourist attractions such as Linh Ứng pagoda, Bà Nà Hills and especially the Dragon Bridge.

It is a bridge that was intentionally constructed to resemble a giant Asian dragon. On special events, it also spits fire. Taking a photo with the Dragon bridge as the backdrop is definitely on my bucket list. If I have time, I’ll also be keen on visiting the Bà Nà hill resorts and take the aerial tramway to the top of the hill to enjoy the grand panoramic view of the Trường Sơn mountain range.

Besides indulging myself in touristic activities, I actually want to explore and try to understand the city life of this bustling location. In recent years, Đà Nẵng has transformed into a metropolis. There are lots of job opportunities for startups and young people. Combining this with what I mentioned earlier, it is not surprising that Đà Nẵng has been named by many media outlets as one of the most livable cities in Vietnam, if not the world.

I’m extremely excited about this trip and I am hard at work at the moment so that I could feel deserved when I actually go there.

3. IELTS Speaking part 3: Travel and Work

3.1. What do you think about working for a short time in another country?

I definitely can be benefited a lot from a change of scenery. Regarding work, this can help me to be more understanding and kind towards people whom I share very few things in common. I’m sure that people of different cultures have different approaches to solving the same problem. Therefore, this should be a precious opportunity for me to upgrade my reasoning skills and diversify my problem solving experiences.

3.2. How do the young generation think about that, is it easy to make that decision?

Most young people would have very few issues making this decision. For starters, I believe that the people of my generation generally have enough English proficiency to survive working in another country. Therefore, the language barrier, which is the main reason that deters people from moving to another country, is much less a problem now than it used to be. Another reason is that I think young people by and large love to take on challenges like this. These challenges stimulate their curiosity about the world and make them more energetic.

3.3. What kinds of jobs are easy to get in a foreign country?

To my knowledge, developed countries such as the USA, Canada, and Japan are having a shortage of nurses and hospice caregivers. In these countries, the populations are aging rapidly and workers in the medical field are being trained at a much slower rate. As a result, these countries have policies that make it easier for potential immigrants who are skilled in this area.

3.4. Do old people and young people choose different places to go on vacation?

In my view, age doesn’t necessarily diminish the desire to explore new places, but it does influence our travel preferences, particularly when it comes to choosing holiday destinations.

Younger individuals often seek adventure and excitement in their travels. They might opt for popular tourist destinations with a wide range of holiday activities or embark on off-the-beaten-path backpacking adventures to satisfy their adventurous spirit.

Conversely, older individuals typically prioritize relaxation and tranquility in their travel choices. They might prefer serene locations, such as lakeside retreats, or cultural destinations like churches and pagodas, where they can find peace and solace.

3.5. What are the negative impacts of tourism?

I hold the view that the most significant negative consequence of tourism is its environmental impact. This pertains to the extensive construction, including roads, hotels, and other accommodations, which can result in the destruction of natural habitats and the degradation of the country’s landscapes.

Tourism can also contribute to pollution and generate substantial waste. From a cultural standpoint, it can lead to the erosion of local traditions, and traditional livelihoods such as fishing and farming may face the risk of becoming obsolete.
